Welcome to How-To-Repair's (Como-Reparar's) shop and Eco-Friendly apartments in the Algarve in Portugal.
Our main distribution warehouse is in the UK, but we have a shop here in the Algarve which we use for teaching as well.

My name is Paul, and when I am not using the apartments for teaching appliance courses we rent them out to friends and customers of How-To-Repair.com. We are now offering very competitive priced accommodation above our shop in our two environmentally friendly apartments.

We have great amenities here, a large terrace with both sunny and shaded areas, and a BBq and outdoor dining area, Our apartments are located in a small village called Patacão, just 4.5km from the airport and only 8 Euros by taxi. The beach is 8km and Faro town centre is 5km away, all are easily accessible by local transport.

A word about Faro, it’s a proper town, not just a tourist destination, and it’s right in the middle of the Algarve. When you’ve had enough of sizzling on the beach there’s a huge range of other diversions, from just wandering the maze of small streets, exploring the historic walled town, or just sitting with a coffee and watching the world go by. There are small and intimate traditional restaurants serving excellent food at prices I promise you’ll like.

You can take the quaint and cheap coastal railway to all the other towns on the Algarve, from busy Lagos in the west with its marina to the more laid back and picturesque Tavira in the east. You can continue on the train to Vila Real, and take the little ferry to Ayamonte in Spain, and all in a day trip add another country to your holiday itinerary.

By the way, just to climb on my soapbox for a moment, this is not just accommodation; it’s also a showcase of what you can do in your own properties to save yourself money while being eco-friendly. We have solar water and solar electricity installed by us, as well as data sensors and graphing tools developed in-house so you can see how these technologies can save you money with your own home.

We are 5 minutes away from the beach and the Ria Formosa nature reserve where you have miles of golden sand and nature walks. There are lots of coffee shops and bars where beer is only 1 euro and you can get a taste of the true Algarve, away from the tourist-oriented areas.
